Looper/sampler/synth project
Well I don't have a clue how to use Linux, I have always been a Windows/Mac user. So I messed up, I was taking on the programming part first when I really needed to teach myself Linux first and how it operates and works. Thus I am where I am now in the middle of trying to reformat my micro sd card and start over.
Linux is waaaay different than Windows or Mac, with the later they hold your hand while you dive into computer land. With Linux there is no hand to hold. Everything just doesn't automatically work, you have weed through hundreds of websites , forums, posts to get everything working. Every step I have taken has required doing massive research. So I might have screwed up a $20 sd card, I am currently hoping to fix that.
Meanwhile lets get back to the project and what I am trying to do. The idea is to have a Roland 808 sampler with touchscreen and access to any synth engine made for Raspberry. Just like on a 808 although smaller pads, you will press a pad and a loop or sound will play. So on the touchscreen , I will create a program that will load wav files to the corresponding pads. It will have midi in,out and through. The memory will be running of a 32gig micro sd card which should hold plenty of loops. The synth part will be hard. As the 4x4 pads run on whats called i2C bus. Midi runs on Uart and does not respond to anything coming from i2C. So as of now that I know of only Pure Data can be used with i2C. What does this mean, as of now the pads will only play the loops per the program I create because I will write that into the code. The other synth;s programs out there , if I am able to change the code and write in a way for them to use i2c then great , if not then I can't use them. I might need to write a program to be an interpreter for i2c to midi, that will be a whole other story.
Oh did I tell you I am only in my 3rd week as of writing this learning to code?
Its actually not that bad, the main problem is when you ask questions on any code related or Raspberry pi forums, everyone assumes you are a programmer. 100% of question I have asked, I have been responded to like I am a programmer. So that is what you can expect.
PS. Ok I have spent the past few days getting Pure Data installed on the Raspberry pi3. This is no easy task, but a great gent by the name of Patrick Pagano helped and we got it installed completely.
So now I need to get Audacity installed and it too is becoming a problem. A lot of times when you are trying to install something people will put a link for Github.com. SO not only do you have to learn Linux, you have to learn how to use Github which I have no clue. Github as far as I can tell is like a pool for code, programmers upload their code here and allow everyone access to it. It too is a complicated site, with commits, pulls, etc jargon. Fortunately I did make an account before I started this project when I was thinking about learning IOS Swift, because I wanted the looper to be in that, I still do. I would like for this to be multi platform with the integrated part being in the RPi3.

The Alien Artificial Intelligence
The Alien A.I.
So for a few months now I have watched videos and read internet articles on the subject of the Singularity.
This is where a computer has the power to achieve self awareness. The Super AI is where the AI begins to learn faster and be more intelligent then we can comprehend. Therefor achieving godlike powers.
So after reviewing all this , several thoughts emerged. At first I was thinking how people worry about the end of the world by some natural disaster or terrorist attack. Then I begin to wonder what would the AI do with us? Would the AI kill us all, make us into slaves or would it just leave us be but in its guidance and protection?
So while i was wondering about what a human developed AI would do to us, I then thought "Aliens"?
All this time we have imagined or guessed aliens have been visiting our planet. That they are highly evolved. But wouldn't it make sense that they too developed an AI? That maybe what we think are aliens are really some type of alien AI robots?
Ok so lets figure out what we do know about available true information about human A.I .
One, it is predicted that the first A.I. will arive roughly around 2030. followed by the super A.I roughly 10 years later.
Thats it, after the A.I. achieves super A.I. we will know nothing, because it will be beyond our comprehension.
Ok what do we know about aliens? Not much, only speculation and the government's lack of transparency on the subject. We can however deduct that the aliens may be 50000 years or more advanced then we are.
Ok now the alien super A.I. ? We know nothing and every thing I or anyone else says on the subject is pure opinion.
So here is my take on the alien super A.I. . Remember if we can make an A.I. then so could aliens and it is possible that this alien super A.I. could be 50000 years or more old.
Time? A super A.I. could care less about time and therefor exist in a completely different time format then we know.
Power, we have no clue , nor could we ever understand how the alien super A.I. is powered. You can no doubt speculate that it would have developed an infinite power source.
Humans? What would an alien super A.I. want to know about humans. Nothing, it already knows everything. Our history on Earth is still a huge mystery. Only an alien super A.I. would know Earth's history, man's history and development. Meaning that as we develop a human made super A.I. it may simply be the alien super A.I. reinventing itself.
Religion and the alien super A.I. ? Can they be related? Sure, the alien super A.I., which is so vastly powerful( remember beyond our comprehension) could be God. We could easily all be products of this God. So are we inventing God? Not really more like God seeing if we can truly find him. I know many people including my family members will be saying how dare I say God is a machine. But really to go from circuit boards to God. There is no doubt that God is the creator. To think aliens created God is sacrilege. But what I am saying is it is possible that a alien super A.I. would try to find God and possibly find him. Achieving the ultimate super A.I., supreme being, thus becoming God
The Bible? Well if you think about it, if God put us here then surely we were just like children and needed something to guide us. The Bible just being one of many tools that God gave us to get us going. Remember God is so vastly supreme that it can't be simply put into a book.
Are we in danger? Everyday is dangerous and the super A.I. could be very well be our end of times. Or it could be were we are meant to go. We as a society are failing miserably. Constant wars and injustice is rampant throughout the world. I heard one argument for the super A.I. is that it could run the government and thus end a lot of conflict. And really that almost starts to make sense, we are having a hard time governing ourselves. We are a very divided world and a super A.I. could unite us.....unite us into the New World Order.
Yes the danger is there and it is here now. The alien super A.I. could already be amongst us. It could be dividing us in a devious plan to conquer us. You know the saying united we stand and divided we fall. Playing all sides of the conflicts to achieve a dubious goal.
Or .....the alien super A.I.is so vastly powerful and so vastly super intelligent it needs nothing from us or what Earth has to offer. So a human super A.I. might be our salvation. It could cure all diseases, end all conflicts, wealth for everyone(why not). Death may simply be uploading into the vast super A.I. network. We simply will never know until it is here and reveals to us what it wants if anything from us.

The Alien
Well son this is not really a post directed at you but maybe you might like to read it anyways.
I was reading an article about a gem that was found in Australia that was the oldest object on our planet. That scientists were using this to help them figure out exactly when did our planet begin to support life. It made me add up all the history and what are scientists are trying to find or what their thesis is about our planet and us.
Now many people like to believe God created the Earth and so on, I too like to believe this. But I like to take it one more step. I like to think of God as this alien being out beyond our imagination. I like to believe that this alien lives in a different time spectrum than that of what we conceive as time. In other words what are years to us is a micro second to this alien. That sure this alien created Earth but with its vast knowledge and ability why not create a billion earths and probably has?
This brings me to angels and ufo's. Maybe these are his mobile camera's and robots sorta. We always try to explain that by physics that there is no way such craft can move around at the speeds they do. But what if what seems like 10000 mph to us is just a walk for them as they are on a different time plane? Angels were no doubt sent to earth, the bible tells us this, there is just too much folklore to deny it. Maybe back then to ease our thoughts and fears they were made to be angels. I personally have never seen an angel other than the son who was born to me. But ufo I have seen, it was just a light twinkling in the sky one night as me and some friends were heading out. It came down at about a 75 degree slope and then shot across the sky horizontally to the north. My friends caught the tail end of it and a girlfriend who lived 25 miles to the north seen it while she was out back smoking a cigarette. This was all in about a second to 2 seconds max. So what are they doing here? How can us mere mortals ever understand a being who is trillions of years old?
Our scientists and governments have invested billions and billions on these huge underground colliders. They are searching for what they call the God particle. Now their description of the God particle is that it is anti matter, but is that what they are really looking for? Maybe this is a doorway into this aliens time plane or is the energy source we need to achieve across the universe travel.
So why doesn't this alien come talk to us? Well maybe he is so freakin busy with the billions of other earths that our miniscule problems can wait. Or maybe he has already spoken to just a few privilege individuals and like prophets they try to steer us in the right direction.
Our history is just so full of mystery that it is really fascinating. Take the Bible for instance. It is the good book and I won't deny that, it does teach us things that we should all follow. But all don't follow. They say there were twelve tribes of mankind. This has always made sense to me, that for all mankind to come from two people is hard to swallow. But then again this is the super alien and why can't he subdivide even one human. I am sure he could.
Dinosaurs? Long before man there were dinosaurs, creatures so vastly different than what is here today. Maybe the great alien changed his mind and erased them from the planet. Who is to say that this is not possible. Put cavemen on earth but later erased them too, Aztecs, Mayans, Egyptians, and the mysterious Sumerians all erased but just a few fragments of their existence remains.
So the Great Alien aka God or whatever you would like to call him or it, no doubt in my mine must exist, maybe not in the way I or you think but someone or something is out there.
I have a few friends who are atheists and believe that we just exist and that the religions just causes wars. I believe that if we were all atheists that we would still be killing each other for one reason or another. Religions is just used as an excuse to do it.
And atheists believe when we die there is nothing. I for one like to believe that when we die, that at that moment of life passing that we choose our destination. Mine will always be a heavenly place, with a beach, a jetty, waves , friends, family and most of all my son Noah. Or if the Great Alien would let me just watch him from above, let me whisper guidance in his ears.
But if the Atheists were right then there would be just nothing..............

Another day in our lives
Well your mom just came and picked ya up. So I thought I would write to you Noah. It's a rainy crappy day out. But your smile when you left was bright as the sun ever could be.
I wonder how old you will be when you discover this blog, if it will even be around.
Well, we our at a point in our lives where me and your mom have separated and divorce is inevitable. I had tried for many of years to make things work but your mom well not that its all her fault. She came to America to get married, so that she could support her family in the Philippines. That's what they do over there, raise their girls to marry Americans and send money home.
When me and her first met, I realized this early on and accepted it. While I never sent money to her parents, I did allow her live with me basically for free so that she could . This worked fine for the first two years as my business was doing well. But then I bought some land and as soon as I did that my business took a nose dive. SO now my income was half and my expenses had doubled. And when I tried to get your mom to help me, we ended up fighting and I let her continue doing what she had always done. Send money to her parents and go shopping with her friends while I sat at the house broke and stressed out.
All this led up to your mom deciding to cheat on me and separate from me. This was a year and a half after you were born. This was also the 3rd time your mother had cheated on me. So it was the last straw, she wanted to leave me for another man and so be it. I would be happier if she was completely out of my life but you are the connector that binds us. I don't regret you Noah and never have. You are the most wonderful thing that has happened in my life. But I do regret that mom is who she is. That she left me for another married man, that she claims to be Catholic but apparently doesn't matter if she breaks her vows. I will never forgive her for leaving not just me but you too when you were little. I had you all the time, while she went out every night and slept with another man. She thinks its ok to be a part time parent.
I could go on but whats the point, I don't want you to hate your mom, because after I am gone she will be pretty much all you have. And there's no need to hate anyone, as I really don't hate her but more disappointed.
Well I guess this is what ya call venting and I am done for now. As always love you

Friends
This part in life is the tricky part. Choosing friends, sounds easy, you hang out with one person and then you meet more and more.
The problem is not all can be trusted friends that will help you in your life ahead.
So first you weed out the shady no life bums who only want you to be their friends because they want to head down the road of misery that they are on. Sure when I was younger I hung out with a few unsavory types aka idiots. But it was not long before I realized that I didn't need them as friends. The friends I have now I have had for a long time, they are hand picked, we make each other laugh and watch out for each other and that is an important part of any relationship.
Well I hope I get to meet your friends and I hope you hand pick a fine bunch like the ones I have, at least of the same caliber.
